A Company in America has started with its attempts to manufacture cars that will run on beer! This beer would be nothing but high quality Ethanol itself.
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., is a California based company which is attempting to develop this technology with the help of e-fuel corporation. The technology will be tested for its efficiency in the current year itself. Ken Grossman- manager of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. said that this venture will prove to be a big step from the point of view of environment. It will also prove to be a good answer to the question of fuel crises.
The company currently sells 1.6 million gallon beer yeast to the local farmers who make use of it as a feed to their domestic animals. It usually contains 5-8% of alcohol. This percentage of alcohol can be increased to 15% by performing some chemical reactions and processes from which large quantities of ethanol can be obtained. This ethanol can be suitably used as a fuel for vehicles.
So its no wonder if you see even vehicles consuming beer in the near future!
